Two Rivers Documentary

Two Rivers” tells the story of the Klamath and Missouri Rivers and the indigenous tribe’s defense of their water against outside industries.  The Great Sioux Nation, at Standing Rock on the Missouri, vigorously defended the clean drinking water of 18 million people against the Houston bound Dakota Access Pipeline, a pipeline that would carry half a million barrels of “fracked” oil under that river every day. The Yurok, Karuk and Hoopa, the largest remaining tribes in California defend the Klamath River and the West Coast’s third largest salmon run against water diversions for agribusiness 500 miles south in Westlands water district on the bone-dry west side of the San Joaquin Valley. These stories illuminate the pivotal role that indigenous leadership plays in these times of environmental and social chaos.
